If it sounds too good to be true it probably is!  With recent crackdowns on false claims made by companies like Sensa, L’Occitane and other homeopathic product companies boasting weight loss from body creams, powders and other “quick fixes,” it becomes more clear to us that there is no faster easier way to lose weight(http://www.today.com/news/rossen-reports-ftc-accuses-weight-loss-products-deception-2D11876837). If you want to see the results and keep them you have to make diet and activity changes and continue with them long after the weight loss occurs or you will gain all the weight back and probably then some :/

Another Today Show story, “Surprise slim down” is a great example how to do things the right way (http://www.today.com/health/son-surprises-parents-130-pound-weight-loss-2D11876422). This young man says that he lost 95% of the 130 pounds just by changing his diet alone. He kept track of everything he ate for a year with a food diary and used social media for support.  He is truly an inspiration and an example of how to lose weight the right way through diet and lifestyle change that is maintained.

The hard truth is that if you want to lose the weight and keep it off you’ll have to lose the shake weight, the belly band, the diet pills and the sculpting shoes.  Trade them in for a nutrition consult and a pair of new shoes to get active in or some type of exercise program.  Make the necessary changes to your diet and lifestyle that will result in weight loss.  Track your diet in a food diary if you need to and get support through programs like weight watchers or weight loss blogs. Feel free to post your success stories here to help motivate others!!! Remember that to keep the weight off you will need to maintain the changes you make.  Getting started is the hardest part so don’t get discouraged. Stick with it! Its not easy, but the drastic improvements in quality of life are 100% worth it!
